tsk. i hate it when i can’t watch the movies i want to watch. there’s so many i’ve missed (or going to miss): pirates of the caribbeans III, 881, poltergay, ratatouille and dunno what else.

i don’t watch movies over here cos uh, i don’t have any friends here?

and this time, 881 seems really good. i don’t remember watching any local movies because as we know, the movie industry here is a bit uh, underdeveloped. but i watched the trailers for 881 and i was laughing. it managed to capture my attention and curiosity too. i quite like mindee ong, yeo yann yann and qi yuwu. the reviews for the movie seem pretty good too.

i wonder if it’ll be on crunchyroll anytime soon.

may i have more, please?

these days the fridge has been a little empty because i have been a bum who is too lazy to shop for groceries. there’s still lots of frozen meats but what’s the use of frozen meats when the supply of noodles and rice are running low? when there’s almost no veggies to go along with those proteins? no fruits, no milk to go with cereal, no salad ingredients, no butter, no jam and almost zero sandwich ingredients despite the many slices of bread i have left.

fortunately i have enough ham and cheese to last me till monday. and surprise, surprise, i have an unopened can of tuna which i bought in abundant supply when the supermarket sold them at a discounted price of 99 cents each. i’m glad i was a kiasu auntie when i bought those canned tunas.

oh, i have one last packet of instant noodles too!

p.s: i have been blogging excessively, i know. at least it keeps me from destructive crunchyroll actitivies.

campaign launched to promote S’pore as weekend getaway destination.

STB is the model of creativity, always coming up with fresh ideas that you would never think of.

i was just wondering, that wouldn’t people, especially city dwellers who “after a week’s hard work, (on impulse) they (would) call up a few friends and just come over” want to go to a serene place for a weekend getaway? or maybe they’re actually targeting the kampung dwellers who would look forward for some wild partying, a break from their mundane lives?

of course there’s people who might want to party their entire weekends away, but flying to singapore just to party? STB gotta be kidding. yeah, i know people can be that rich to fly here and there like nobody’s business, but in reality, how many people do that? especially when they are exhausted from a week’s work and their peers are probably as tired as they are. besides, i’m sure a good proportion of these HMI (highly mobile individuals, we just gotta abbreviate everything) work on weekends too. otherwise, how to be that rich to fly at the same frequency which commoners take buses?

apparently there’s a supporter from a certain era who thinks this campaign is a good idea:

“I think I’m a party animal. I enjoy going out at night, especially (during) weekends. Discotheque is a place I like a lot and Singapore has a lot of new discotheques… so this place is complete.”

hurhurhur, discotheques. it sure reminds me of someone i know.
